What is a Web session? A short definition.

1 minute reading time

A web session is a period of time during which a user is actively engaged with a website or web application.

During a web session, the user’s device establishes a connection with the website’s server and the user is able to interact with the site by clicking links, entering information, and viewing content.

The web session typically ends when the user leaves the site or closes the web browser, at which point the server-side session data is typically deleted.
