What are Vanity metrics? A short definition.

1 minute reading time

Vanity metrics are statistics that appear impressive on the surface but don’t necessarily translate into meaningful business results. Counting social media followers or viewing promotional videos are examples. Although the data may seem impressive on the surface, it does not accurately reflect an organization’s key drivers and does not provide much insight into the relationship between a product or initiative and broader business goals.
